biography

Born in Ibadan, Nigeria, and raised in Lagos, Abiola A. Olusola launched her eponymous brand in May, 2017. After earning a degree in English Literature & Language at University of Lagos, Olusola moved to Paris to study Fashion Design at Instituto Marangoni Paris, and throughout her time there, interned with brands such as Givenchy and Lanvin. While completing her program at Instituto Marangoni, her graduate collection was shown at Pitti Uomo Florence during Institute Marangoni’s graduate week. Upon graduation, she returned to Lagos and launched her namesake brand, which was founded on the philosophy that dressing should be effortless. Olusola’s collections are made with fabrics that are printed in Nigeria, and she takes inspiration from modern African women who are always on the move. All designs are crafted to be simultaneously chic and functional. In 2018, The Guardian named Olusola as one of five designers to watch, writing that she has "not only has the talent but the gumption to take on the bigwigs of Nigerian fashion."
